The fight over offensive terms

I do not get it. Technologists, specifically software developers, work with language. They express intentions and instructions in words. They communicate with future selves and peers.

They name concepts, actions, and generally “things” every day. They know that proper naming is important. They strive to get it right. Being intentional with naming is a part of the qualification.

Why on Earth they insist to communicate to the future their bigotry and racism? What kind of “I want memoize my lack of morals” stupidity is that?

Kudos and thank you to Mallory Knodel, Lars Eggert, Priyanka Sharma, and other contributors pushing this truck out of a wet sand.
